If I mix spiced rum with store bought Korean honey BBQ sauce, will it make a good marinade for short ribs?

I'm getting ready to marinade these short ribs and I'm trying a new BBQ sauce for the marinade. When I smell the BBQ sauce I can just imagine it would taste good with a spiced rum like Sailor Jerry's. I'm not interested in making my own marinade today because I'm supposed to be trying this BBQ sauce. Just looking to see if anyone has attempted this and if so what the results were.
