Is there something wrong with my teriyaki sauce?

ok so the teriyaki sauce I have is very liquid, like water. But I want it to be more of a sauce, more stiff, like oil. Because in asian restaurants, the meat is usually garnished with teriyaki sauce (right? or some other sauce?). The one I have is kikkoman marinade & sauce
