Cooking chicken.....?

Ok, so I'm making lemon thyme chicken(w big chicken breasts with skin ON) and the recipe called for putting it on a Broiler rack..and I was thinking it would be so much easier and quicker to do it in a pan with the marinade basted on top. How would I cook it? And how long on each side?
