Will my chicken go bad?

Due to series of unfortunate events, my marinaded chicken is getting a lot of marinade time. I put the chicken in a plastic bag with the mix last night around 4pm. My husband decided he wanted to go out to dinner with his friends. Is it still good if it has been sitting in the fridge in the bag with the juices for tonights dinner? (Which we wont even be eating until about 10pm since we have labor classes) We normally just end up eating fast food on nights like this though, so incase we didn't cook it tonight, what if it sat and marinaded all the way until tomorrow night? That would be about 36 hours. I keep telling my husband it is going to rott, but he says otherwise. Would like to hear some input, thanks.
