Should I get a tattoo if my husband won't like it?

I drew up a koi tattoo that I really want on my back, not a huge tattoo but one with meaning. My husband says he doesn't care if I get it, but he won't like it and he even said he might not be as attracted to me. But, art is a huge part of my life and this tattoo would have meaning that is important to me. Should I just get the tattoo or should I nix the idea all together? Anyone have a similar experience?
