Freshwater pond fish? ?

Can any gamefish such as sturgeon or pike live in a pond if I build one in my yard. Also how big would a pond have to be to have gamefish(not goldfish or koi). I want a fish that is friendly( the sturgeon were really friendly at discovery world). Thanks
