The only way you get the same tax benefits is if you choose to have your LLC taxed as a corporation - otherwise from a tax standpoint you are treated as a sole proprietor. A single member LLC offers less protection as typically the corporate veil is easily pierced. S corp will offer you much more protection, a salary paid by the corp, and the profit is pass through income to you not subject to self employment tax. Talk to your attorney and he/she will explain the difference between the 2 in detail.
